Hello!

Hello everyone and welcome to our SVA Nepal group's blog!

At least one of us shall attempt to update the blog whenever we get near a computer, although this may be difficult in rural Nepal.

While in Nepal we will be staying in Jagatpur, Chitwan where we will be working at Shree Kadam school, a lower secondary school that was established in 1960. Catering for primarily deprived families, there are around 300 pupils studying at Shree Kadam belonging mostly to the Darai ethnicity. We shall be helping to construct a two classroom building as their current facilities are in poor condition and have been badly damaged by heavy rain. We will be working with our NGO partner Partnership for Sustainable Development (PSD) Nepal while on-site and they will ensure that the project runs smoothly and to it's full potential. For more information on PSD visit http://www.psdnepal.org/index.html.

For further information on SVA, including more on the Nepal Project in general check out http://www.gla.ac.uk/clubs/sva/index.html.

I hope you enjoy reading our blog and feel free to leave any comments you have below!
Kenneth
